If you ask yourself the question "can you get pregnant from outercourse", you might find some useful information in the following paragraphs.
Generally, if you want to know "can you get pregnant from outercourse", this is not very likely, but it is also not completely impossible.
First of all, a woman is only fertile for round about 5 days in every cycle (the so-called fertile days) which are normally between the 10th and the 16th after the beginning of the period, if the woman has a regular cycle of 28 days. If she and her partner have sexual intercourse during these days, i.e. if male sperm cells enter the vagina, the possibility of her getting pregnant is quite high.
But, as the following example shows, even if the couple does not have proper sexual intercourse and the risk for her getting pregnant is much lower, it is still not entirely impossible.
If a couple is having petting during her fertile days and the man has already had his orgasm, sperms might stick to his fingers when he is caressing the vagina of his partner with his fingers. Thus, sperms could also enter the woman's vagina, find their way to the egg cell and fertilize it.
Therefore, if a couple does not want to take the risk of an unwanted pregnancy, they should also use some type of contraceptive, e.g. condoms, especially during her fertile days, i.e. the "dangerous" days, even if they do not have proper sexual intercourse. Thus, they would be on the safe side and do not have to worry about possible unwanted consequences.
