If you are interested in the topic "pregnancy and wine", you might find some useful information in the following paragraphs.

Although a lot of pregnant women deliberately restrain from alcohol during their pregnancy, sometimes they are convinced by friends, colleagues or family members to have a drink. But during pregnancy, light or medium alcohol consume and especially occasional excessive drinking can have severe consequences. With a daily consume of 29g of pure alcohol, which is 2 glasses of beer (0,3l) or 1/4l of wine, the IQ of the child is decreased about 7 points. As nobody knows what quantity of alcohol does not harm the child, the best decision is to say "no" to pregnancy and wine and to stick to this decision without any exception.

Alcohol renouncement is not a "no" for pleasure, but a "yes" for your health and the one of your baby. It is recommended to drink 1,5 l of alcohol-free drinks per day. Consult your doctor about the amount you should drink per day if you have problems with oedema (e.g. water in the legs).

During pregnancy, women have a need a higher amount of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Therefore, it is recommended to drink vegetable or fruit juices, mixed with water or mineral water.

Try to relax with the smell and taste of a cup of hot herbal tea or enjoy the refreshing effect of a cup of cool fruit tea.

It is also very easy to create tasteful, alcohol-free cocktails from freshly squeezed fruit juice mixed with skimmed milk or butter milk.

It is also easier for pregnant women to not drink any alcohol, if the partner does not drink any alcohol either. It is recommended that a woman should speak with her partner about the topic "pregnancy and wine", as he is responsible for the health of the baby as well.
