Article : Does a faint line on your pregnancy test mean you are pregnant?

If you are interested in the topic "pregnancy tests faint line", you might find some useful information in the following paragraphs.

Home pregnancy tests which have a reliability of between 90 - 98 per cent, are supposed to detect beta HGC, the pregnancy hormone, which is responsible for the continuing production of oestrogens and gestagens in the ovary and which can be detected already very early in early pregnancy.

Most of the home pregnancy tests are built and work in a similar way. The point of the test has to be held in the urine (preferably the test is to be made with the morning urine, as the concentration of beta HGC is higher). Normally, the test results are already shown after a couple of minutes. Most of the tests show a line in a little window which indicates that the test has been carried out properly. If the test has been made successfully, this line appears regardless whether the woman is pregnant or not. If a second line appears, this is the indication of the woman being pregnant. If this second line shows up, it does not matter whether it is clearly visible of whether it is just the faintest line, the beta HGC has clearly been detected.

When reading the pregnancy test's instructions, there should also be some type of information saying that the clarity of the line does not indicate whether a woman is pregnant or not.

If no line appears, but the woman still suffers from early pregnancy symptoms like non-appearance of the period, nausea, sore and growing breasts, tiredness, etc., she should wait a couple of days and make another pregnancy test. Maybe the concentration of the beta HGC was not high enough for the pregnancy test to detect the beta HGC hormone in the first test.
