A lot of women ask themselves the question "can you get pregnant during period".
Practically, it is almost impossible for a woman to get pregnant during her period, but, the question "can you get pregnant during period" cannot be entirely denied. In the following paragraphs, you will find some useful information in respect of this topic.
For a woman with a "normal" cyclus of 28 days who has the ovulation on the 14th day after the beginning of the period, the fertile days, i.e. the "dangerous" days should be between the 10th and the 16th days after the beginning of the period. These are the fertile days, because if a couple has sexual intercourse during these days, the male sperms can survive up to 5 days in the vagina and still fertilize the egg cell after the ovulation has taken place. Furthermore, an egg cell stays fertile between 12 -24 hours after the ovulation.
It is visible from the period of time (10th-16th day), that the fertile days, i.e. the days when a woman can get pregnant, are normally not during the period.
But if a woman has a very irregular cyclus, and therefore is not so sure about her fertile days, she and her partner should be cautious having sexual intercourse without using any contraceptives during her period. Although, it is not very likely, there is still a tiny little chance that male sperms will survive long enough in the fluid of the vagina until the ovulation. Under these circumstances, the egg cell could be fertilized.
But as mentioned before, in general, it is quite unusual for a woman to get pregnant during her period.
