Article : Inducing pregnancy is common, learn more here

If you are interested in the topic "pregnancy inducing" the following paragraphs might contain some useful information for you.

The birth is induced when the doctors have the feeling that it is better for the child to be born. This can be the case with certain illnesses, like diabetes, or if the placenta does not supply the child with sufficient nutrients. Furthermore, the birth is induced if the date of birth has been exceeded by 10 to 14 days.

The following methods are used for inducing:

1.) Opening of the amniotic sac
As the volume of the uterus changes when the amniotic sac is opened, contractions are the consequences which might result in labour.

2.) Drip
By a drip, the oxytocine hormone is introduced into the body of the woman. This is the most common method of inducing birth. The drip is put into a vein on the back of the hand and can easily be regulated. In many cases, the uterus just needs a little encouragement and then produces contractions itself. If this is the case, the drip is removed and the birth continues naturally.

3.) Using the prostaglandine hormone
By using the prostaglandine hormone, the mouth of the uterus is softened and the cervix is shortened. Prostaglandine is introduced into the back of the vagina or the cervix in the form of a tablet, a suppository or a gel. The uterus absorbs the hormone and reacts by producing contractions. With prostaglandine, the birth is induced, if the child has to be pulled out although the body of its mother is not prepared to give birth. The big disadvantage of this method is that the dose cannot be varied. If the hormone has been given, the action of the hormone cannot be influenced.
