8. Eating eggs in the pregnancy:
Raw or badly cooked eggs are dangerous during pregnancy. In fact, every food should be well cooked before consuming during pregnancy. Eggs can cause salmonellas if not cooked properly (a bacteria that causes vomitting and diarrhea). The best thing to do is to cook them well. Supermarket products containing eggs are safe because they have been pasteurized, like mayonnaise. However, try to avoid home-made products containing eggs (especially in restaurants) e.g., souffles, mayonnaise.

9. Overweight and the pregnancy:
It's a bit dangerous for a pregnant women to eat anything and everything she desires during her pregnancy because of the serious problems and complications that can be caused by being overweight during pregnancy. For example, it is a lot more difficult to check if the baby is all right, the muscles get overworked, the back hurts even more and the varicose veins in the legs gets worse. In case of cesarean, the operation is more complicated and can cause diabetes during pregnancy.

10. Drinking and eating low fat food during pregnancy:
Low fat food during pregnancy doesn't represent a problem. But it's advisable to eat a healthy and nutritious diet. Don't substitute proper healthy food for low fat all the time. Natural and healthy food is the most recommendable during pregnancy.

11. Nausea during pregnancy:
Nausea during pregnancy can be very uncomfortable, but the truth is that it could be beneficial for the baby. Scientists from the Cornell University of New York, believe that nausea and rejection for certain foods can appear to protect the baby from certain foods poisons and possible infections and diseases caused by the food.

If you can't retain any food or liquid in your stomach, visit your doctor because is a risk of dehydration.

12. Cheese and pregnancy:
C heeses like Roquefort, blue cheese and the ones with fungus and bacteria can carry listeria - a bacteria related to abortion, malformations and death in the uterus. Unpasterized cheeses can carry toxoplasma, a parasite that also causes abortion and malformations in the baby. It is safe to eat hard and cured cheeses, like manchego, parmesano and fresh cheeses, which are always pasterized.

13. Decorating and painting during pregnancy:
You are probably planning the decoration of the baby's room, but it's recommended you leave it for later. You should know that the inhalation of the paint vapour and old dried paint powder can cause damage in the mental development of the baby. The best thing to do is leave the painting for your partner or the professionals. Using a liquid paint stripper to take off the old paint and not leave powder in the air is a good idea..

14. Plenty of rest during pregnancy:
In the old times people thought that as soon as a woman was pregnant the best thing to do was have lots of rest. Now ir is recommended to do some exercises during pregnancy. Complete rest and relaxation during pregnancy is now prescribed by the doctors, to help the mom's and baby's health. In the last few weeks of pregnancy the woman feels very uncomfortable and unable to do much stuff. So it's recommended to rest with the feet up but still going out evey day for a walk, even if it's a short one.

15. Taking vitamins during pregnancy:
You should take a suplement of folic acid to prevent spina bifida and another spinal problems. The recommended thing is to start taking folic acid as soon as you and your partner decide to try for a baby. Once you get pregnant it is also recommended to take it for at least the first trimester of pregnancy. If you are taking vitamins make sure that they are OK to take during pregnancy. If you feel very tired perhaps you have anemia, so the doctor might prescribe you iron.
