Some women already know shortly after conception that they are pregnant, others have a first idea when their period does not come. There are various pregnancy syptoms which indicate the miracle that happens in the female body.

The non-appearance of the period is one of the most secure pregnancy syptoms. But the period might also not come due to other reasons, e.g. stress or an organic illness. On the other hand, you may have slight bleedings round about the point of time of the period, although you are already pregnant.

First of all, alterations of the breasts are realised by most of the women. They get bigger and are sore. This is due to the hormone production which activates the mammary glands to grow.

Nausea is also one of the most common and clearest pregnancy syptoms. Some women only suffer from nausea in the morning, others feel sick the whole day or during parts of the day. Some women only feel sick, others have to throw up. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), the pregnancy hormone, is made responsible for nausea.

A lot of women also feel very tired during early pregnancy. Therefore, tiredness can also be an indicator for pregnancy, but it can of course also have various other reasons.

Mood swings are further pregnancy syptoms. Like in the normal female cycle, the changes in the hormone balance also can cause mood swings during pregnancy.

Dragging pains which sometimes appear in the inguinal region can also be an indicator for pregnancy. This is because the ligaments which hold the uterus are growing and stretching.

Enormous appetite or an aversion to some type of food and ravenous appetite for other dishes are other typical pregnancy syptoms.
